Hi Guys,
I don't know if ya'll know it but I also make Quilts and I'm thinking about doing a quilt with comic covers on it.
How this works is I have a GOOD pic of something and I print it onto a special cloth and sew it into a quilt.
So what I need are GOOD images of key books of the different ages. They can be your books or just great looking images you have found.
So any help ya'll could give me would be most welcomed.
BTW I need a list of key books so any help in that would be welcome too.
So ya'll give me your input on this will ya!!
Thanks,
Linda

Just let me know what you need. I'm sure I can find pretty much any of the keys in really high res pics. Those kind of pics aren't great for posting to forums though. A whole bunch of them on the page would make for a really long load for any dialuppers. I can however email them to you, too. :-D

Cool list, but I think for these purposes I'd rather include Detective #27 than #26. The cover art for #26 didn't feature Batman, just an interior advertisement.

Yeah, kinda weird that #27 wasn't on there...??? Guess it's just a partial list LoL. #batman#

None of these lists ever include New Fun #1 or #6. #1 is the first comic with original material, if I am not mistaken, and #6 is the first Dr. Occult

Oh Lord!! With that many I think I'm going to have to make more than one quilt!!
Maybe I can break it down to "Ages", you know like copper, Silver, etc. Or maybe make the images about 1/4 the size of the original comic.
Any ideas, guys?
Maybe I'm just do one with just the covers I like? I'm still think (I know you can smell the smoke!)
Linda
P.S. Thanks, Hank!

You could break it down to the ages too but regardless it will still be a big project because then you have even more cover options. You could probably do one of just FF since many of the first 100 issues had some sort of first appearance.
I can probably get you some decent images of some of the listed stuff (no not from my collection)

I would just whittle the list down to the most important and notable covers. Any idea how many panels the quilt will have?

Maybe we could send you what covers we want and you could make us a quilt and we'd buy it from you Hmmmmmmmm. This could be the start of a great business for you.

Whoa guys!! I'm still working on the the size so I'm not sure of the amount of blocks yet.
If I get this one made and see how much time and money it takes to make it, I might, MIGHT think about selling some.
That is a good idea by the way, Hank!! I could make quilts with the person's favorites covers like a horror theme for SP!! #dunno#
Let me add it to my "to do" list!!
Thanks for all the ideas and info!

I'm only gonna suggest two, not my two favorites or two I think are the most important, just two cool ones.

I dont know FT, I really never play the games. I am hardly here anymore, I am working so many hours lately that I have to be in bed early to get up early. My comic book purchasing has gotten me into way more debt than I'd like to admit. Anyway, I'll think of some more classic covers and try to host and then post them here. Gotta sleep now, take care. Ohw one last thing, we had a "quilt" project for one of my art classes once and I got this video from the library, it was pretty cool. At the end it just showed a slide show of images of different quilts. Many were very very cool and some were quite different than your every day quilt. Have you ever seen any videos on quilts?

Oh yes, SS!! When my Mom and I went up north to visit my brother's family, on the way back we stopped at the Museum of the American Quilter's Society in Paducah, KY. You just won't believe the quilts there. There was one there that you would have thought was a printing until you got up a bit closer to it!! I think we spend more than 5 hours there just going from room to room. I just wish they would had allowed camera in there!! :-(

Linda... I think you have the makings of a business here! I know I'd have you do one giant cover for me! though probably something obscure and independant... or made of independant covers...
this is just too cool.. I'm gonna want to see pictures one day!
anyhow best to you.

I haven't had a chance to work on it the last few weeks. Maybe when I get moved, I can get it into the planning stage.
