In 2007 I got to go to my first Screamfest convention. It was only the 5th year that they had it and I didn't know what to expect. I had a blast. I got to meet some of my favorite horror movie actors/actress such as Gunnar Hanson(Original Leatherface), Doug Bradley(Pin Head from Hellraiser), Kane Hodder (Jason Friday the 13th), Shawnee Smith (Blob, Saw) and Michael Berryman (the original movie Hills Have Eyes).
Last year I didn't get to make it which was really a disappointment since they was going to have Rochelle Davis who played the young girl in "The Crow". This being my favorite movie of all time I figured I'd never get to meet her. When I checked out the website www.spookyempire.com (http://www.spookyempire.com) back in the early summer I wasn't sure I wanted to try to go because they didn't have that one person I really wanted to meet. Sometime between July and August I checked and her picture was up to be a guest. No matter what it took I was going to make it there this year. So with less than 3 weeks away I'm anticipating the show with a little nervousness and anxiety. I got my digital camera this year which I didn't have 2 years ago and I hope that everything works out. I don't know if anyone plans to attend but if you're interested in Horror this is a great show to attend.

Would it be worthwhile to exhibit if you were selling 1970's horror comic books, Famous Monsters of Filmland, Creepy, Eerie, etc.(very little in the way of moderns)?

That sounds like alot of fun. Here's some advice about the camera, if you don't general take good pictures, I suggest practicing alot. Possibly print out some of the as you cannot see how they actually look in the small screen. Also, before you leave charge the battery :D

Have a great time and report back with pictures.

I've learned always take extra batteries. I got the rechargable ones. Digital camera goes through batteries as fast as toys do.

there's one huge dealers room with a lot of merchandise. I would like to buy some stuff and bring back but I'll probably stay in the gues area and pay the high price for the autographs. That's what I'm interested in anyway, meeting some of the people on the big screen.

I'll definitely post some pictures. The costume contest they have they go all out.

The last time I went I believe there were two people with comics/magazines that had horror themes. When I was leaving they still had most of their stuff. I was hoping I would find some older comics but I didn't see anything I was interested in. I'm not sure what to expect this year. There seems to be 3 times as many people they're listing as guest.
