Finally, I picked this volume 1 TPB up in a Halloween sale at my LCS this past weekend. This series rocks! No wonder why the first few issues commands a hefty price. The art, story, gray tones, etc....really does comes together for this series. I can't wait to go back and get the rest of the series in TPB.

You won't be sorry fr doing it either. This series unlike many other series out there never lost any steam. If anything, it has only gotten better. It really reads great in TPB too.

Ugh! I hate this series. I read the first 25 issues and the only thing I kept thinking was how much of a damn soap opera it was. I want horror in my horror comics! Maybe I'm jaded. Maybe I just like blood and guts. All I know for sure, is that this series bored the shit outta me.
Count me in as a huge fan of this series. SP is right though, it does have a very soap operaish tone to it. I don't watch soaps, but I'm reading this one!
There have been a few ick moments in the series, but it's really not scary at all.

Satan,
It's OK for you to not like the series. I agree it's not all that scary. But then again it's the whole scenario that's scary. Even Romero's Zombie flicks aren't that scary, gory, yes, scary no.
The reason I like this series so much "IS" the soap opera aspect of it. It's the way the various players react to the various situations that make it interesting.
Zombies walking around biting people gets old pretty quick. That's why Romero used "SMART(ish)" Zombies in his last two movies.
Kirkman has been pretty rough on his main characters so far and I am enjoying watching them adapt to the situations they find themselves in.
OH, and am "I" the only one who caught the mention our very own "COMICS CORRAL" got in the letters page of issue 30 (or 31)
That's right one of our very own Corralers got a letter printed!

Congrets, Kelly!! #woohoo# One of our own "Fangirls"!!!
Hi, Kelly are you online???
Linda
Here's a title that seems to have been neglected for discussion. Is anyone still following this series?
We're now at issue #44 and I can't wait to check it out tomorrow.
The Governor is back (well, most of him) and ready to lay waste to the survivors in the prison and it looks like a lot of heads are going to roll in the next few issues.
Personally, I think it's time for Rick to go. He has had enough pain and suffering for any one person to have to deal with!
Even though he is supposedly the main character, it would be interesting to see what direction the book can take with a new leader in place (I wouldn't mind Andrea or Tyrese).

I'm still reading, and still loving it. This title is one the few that I read as soon as I get my hands on it. It is always at the top of that week's stack.

I just started to get the issues after the trades that just recently came out. I can't wait for the trades so I buy the issues that follows. It is an addicting series.
This is a great series. Book 3 will be released on December 13th. I believe it will contain issues 25 though 37. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

This is probably THE only series I'm reading now from a monthly perspective. Without this title I probably wouldn't be going to the LCS...and because of this title, I've now slowly started to pick other "mature" titles as well.
How does everyone feel about the title after #48? The conclusion of the "No One Is Safe" arc was a massacre. Yikes.
#48 was a shocker, that's for sure. I'm excited to see what's coming up next...it sure will be a change of pace.

I just picked up and read #48, I gotta say this is one book where I see few things coming and other stuff has shocked me. I liked the change of pace.
The cover for #49 looks interesting.

I believe it has Rick and his son walking through the woods...next issue is definitely going to be dangerous for these guys. It's going to be interesting to see what Kirkman receives as feedback.

WD is a great title! I got into it late, so I only buy the hard cover volumes (#1-3 are out now). It is hard to be patient and wait for each volume, but I thoroughly enjoy reading it in that format.
I finally got around to reading the last few issues. Wow, wow, wow.
I sat in my comic room for a while in just a daze. But I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.
