Opening an online store

Being currently "not working" this could be an option for me.I'm clueless but think I could give it a try.

Anybody here ever done that? Basiclly just looking for advice,opinions & life lessons about it.

The price looks like around $10 a month for a yahoo store.I'm sure google has one too but I just saw this & haven't check that yet.

What do you all think?

I did the ebay store thingy. A little more expensive per month but a few people have heard about it.

I have purchased from a yahoo store in the past. Do they offer you free advertisment or search result placement? I am not sure how easy or difficult it is to set up the store though.
