To start, I want everyone to know that I have been a fan of Wolverine for over 20 years. I think the character has a lot of depth, and it is easy to see why he is so popular.

However, what I am increasingly growing weary of is, what I would call, is his near-invincibility.

Case in point #1 : In the latest issue of his regular comic, he faces off against Sentinal, who proclaims that although he cannot kill Wolverine, he can stop/hurt him...

Case in point #2 : In the Wolverine Origins series, Wolverine states the only thing that can kill him is a mystic sword...

Last time I checked, I believe that Wolverine still needs to breathe, so if the Sentinal threw Logan into space, I am pretty sure that would be the end.

To further the point, Wolverine only has an admantium skeleton, not admantium tissue & muscle. Therefore if someone like Spiderman or the Hulk hits him in the head, the concussion he would receive would probably kill him (swelling with no place to go). The same goes for ripping out his limbs - nothing to stop this.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I lost my tast for Wolverine probably 15 years ago. Every year they make him more invincible and brooding. Probably why I like X-23 so much because she is an animal while Logan is just trying to be human.

Sorry to say this but I think Wolvie is one shallow character and the only way they try and make him more interesting is by changing his origin and abilities.

The thing I had issues with the most recently was in Wolverine V3 #43. He was nuked down to the adamantium by Nuke.

That seems to be a bit much to come back from...

-Bring out your dead!

-Here I got one for you.

- I'm not dead!

-What was that?

-I'm not dead!

-He says he's not dead!

Yep Wolverine is like Monty Python now. At least when X-23 was lefct for dead she was only shot several hundred times not nuked down to her skeleton

That's the problem I see with comic characters in general, the more popular they get the more invulnearble due to the increasing deadliness of their villains. Eventually we get sick of the character and they have to "kill" him/her and then bring them back weaker or at least more brooding. A perfect example of this is Superman.
