I just now noticed that a lot of Gold Key comics didn't have a cca stamp.Looking back through the Bronze Age Cover thread I spotted a couple of their horror comics and wondered how that passed and that's when I noticed it.

That also applies to the Whitman comics. Can someone explain this to me?

Not all comic book publishers submitted their books to the CCA, most notably Dell. Being that Gold Key emerged from Dell, they probably did not feel compelled to do so either.

Dell, and then Gold Key were considered to be wholesome, safe comics and had their own review boards (most likely just the editor) that made sure that they stayed that way. You will notice that even the Whitman continuations of Gold Key titles were not code approved either. And, to be honest, I can't think of a single Gold Key that I have seen that WAS code approved...? Anybody know of any?

Yeah,I had forgot about the being tied to Dell thing.I knew Dell never used it,but looking at some of the Dell & Gold Key horror covers(maybe call them 'Thriller') they were kinda scary for the time frame. Not quite as bad as the pre-code stuff or the Bronze horror covers.
