So right now I when I buy an item via eBay and pay with PayPal the funds are drawn directly from my bank account. I also have my Master Card as the primary card on the account.
Now I know that with some other PP transaction on other sites I was able to switch the source from which the payment is drawn from (ie either from the bank account which is usually how I pay to the Master Card) but is this option also there when paying for an eBay purchase via PayPal?
I just wonder because I don't want to remove the bank account but I would rather not draw from that source right now.

you can have multiple bank accounts linked to your paypal account and decide which is the primary. I have two and I can flip between them with my credit card being the backup source in either case

Not 100% sure as I usually have only the balance and the account, but it seems like there is an option to pick an alternate source.Pretty much what Dave said.

I third what was said above. You just gotta be careful though. The link to switch funding sources comes early in the payment process and is very subtle.

Yeah I know. It is pretty subtle all the time. So subtle one could easily miss it ... which one of the reasons I asked ;)

unrelated kind of: I owed ebay some seller fees and they took them directly from my paypal account without notification. That irritated me. Anyone else bothered by this.

I get a notice once a month if I've sold anything. It tells how much you owe and that it will be deducted form whatever source you specify within a certain number of days. That's all I ever see until I check PP.Most of the time I pay after everything I've listed sells.

The link is VERY very subtle for a reason.
I specifically asked Paypal to change my normal purchasing method to my CC however they said "that option is unavailable". You have to always manually change the payment method to your CC because Paypal makes more money when they pull it from your bank account. Regardless of the fact that you as a buyer have FAR less protection when paying from your bank account.

I didn't realize they made more $ on bank accounts. I always assumed they preferred to mitigate the buyer's ability to circumvent paypal resolution rules by doing a credit charge chargeback if a transaction went south.

Yeah, they have to eat the credit card vendor charge just like anybody else if you use the good old Visa.

Don't let them hear you say that, they'll start passing it on to the sellers.I'm surprised they don't already.I've seen some sellers not accept PP through a credit card, only a balance or bank account.Of course that's been a few years ago.

That's illegal in California. It's also illegal to pass on the Paypal fees to the buyer.

I think some sellers cannot accept CC is because of the type of account they have with Paypal.

You may have signed up for automatic payments via paypal without even realizing it. I manually pay my ebay fees via paypal. A couple of months ago they were under a buck so I ignored it. Ebay put a temp hold on my account until I paid them something like 30 cents. But they did not just go and take out the funds even thought I manually pay them from my paypal account. There should be an option under your account.
