I threw in bids on 4 of them and quickly got squashed. I hate to bid on Sunday night auctions - too much competition. Those Racket Squads went higher than I would have thouht.
But I was astounded at your Little Lulu #1, a VG - F (looked better) that went for only $46. If I didn't have a Fine I would have been all over it.

I am sure I lost money on the Little Lulu #1....oh well!
Also, the Archie Annual #1 also went for WAY below guide....I could have sold it at a convention for more.
The weird Charltons usually do pretty well so I was not too surprised at the prices for those.
Thanks for the bids, Mal! (even if they did get squashed!)

I won that book! It looks like 5.5 to me. I could not believe that it was sold for such a low bid. The same day I was out bid on a chase cover variant of "Beyond Wonderland"#4. It went for a ridiculous sum of fifty-one dollars. Many newbie (ebayers) collector's really don't realize the worth of older books. They just bid on what is hot for that particular time. Hab-sorry that you lost on the deal. Mal- I am glad that you were not all over it!

Could you post a scan of the book? I've never seen a little lulu #1, I know I could look it up on GCD or similar but that wouldn't be the same...
What would have been a "normal" price for the book in 5.5?
just curious

Well until Joe gets back here, I'll put up mine. Now that I look at it, I may go a little higher than 6.0, maybe 6.5 or 7.0 because to the great colors and white pages. I would have expected the 5.5 to go for $80-90. This one was $100, bought 6 years ago in a phone auction by one of the big Chicago dealers (I think it was Friendly Frank's).

Mal's about right with the price I was hoping for but that is the risk you have with eBay.....right people at the right time equals nice price.....and not equals a good deal for the buyer (like JJoe....thanks for the purchase dude...glad you liked the comic!
