I'm planning to write a letter to the editor of Sparkler. Issue 46 had no Sparkman, even though #45 said it would. So I went back to #42 as a prequel, which is his arrival in India. Plus a chance to put up a bloody Tarzan cover again. don't need no steenkin Comics Code Authority.

And back to Sparkler #45 (Pay no attention to those hairy arms holding the comic flat).

Boy, what a wild ride that was! These books really have some special stuff that the current product is sorely lacking.
I can't remember the last time I read a story that had a father pimping his daughter, train rides, giant cobras and mongooses (mongeese?) an old guy in a wheelchair beating the crap out of a young bloke and a young bloke who needed to have the crap beaten out of him before he could break the bonds that held him in order for the beating to be administered.
Hmmm. Hulk prototype?
Anyway, what a great wacky GA story, Mal. Thanks for taking the time to post it. #clap#
Hey - I didn't think the smilies were going to make the cut on the new Board?

Thanks Duffman, any time. Actually this reminds me a lot of "Dangerous Assignment", a really good OTR series starring Brian Donlevy.
"The Commissioner" sent US special agent Steve Mitchell to exotic locales where he encounters adventure and international intrigue, all played out using extreme violence.
There was also a TV version in the early '50s, with lots of slinky femmes fatales and knife throwing murderers. No comics though. There was another bizarre series in Popular called "Dr. Bobbs" that I might dredge up some day.
