Have at it. Dear wife put me on diet yesterday (no more fat bids on comics for awhile). It seems she spent $1,600 to have a painting restored this weekend, and now we're just a little short.

I guess it is. The woman who worked on it (who's from Russia) said to get it appraised we should use a European internet appraisal site. She said don't let any of the experts in the US know you have it, it isn't safe. Then she said she doesn't trust the ones in Europe either, but they're too far away to be a threat.

OK, this is the painting, by a frenchie named Louis-Emile Adan. It's signed in the lower right corner, not previously listed as one of his works.

LOL, it was in my parents' house when they moved out and couldn't take everything. I don't really know where they got it.

A similar topic came up yesterday with a friend, There are a lot of missing treasures that were looted from museums during WW2. It could be that you shouldn't tell anyone you have it at all lest it be taken from you and returned to the original owner.

And, yet, Interpol is doing NOTHING about the looted Crippen books!

OK, forget I mentioned it. The picture I showed is obviously a cheap imitation.
