I have inherited a collection of vintage and newer comics. Vintage include a FEW (NB: only a few) Superman, including one w 3D glasses - in Good condition , cover price 12 cents) and others, incl Wonder Woman. There are a few old Green Lanterns (Vol 2 #8, 2 copies of the one with the giant purple Gila monster, value about $100 each) and others, including Illustrated Classics, a bunch of labels I've never heard of before. Johnny Spaceman or whatever...
NEWER: bunch of SOLAR, Man of the Atom, Magnus Robot Fighter, others. Know the Overstreet value of this is considerable, but don't know the exact total. The collection fits mostly in a medium size cardboard box. Some have a $.12 or $.15 cover price, but are NOT Marvel/DC superhero comics.
I'm a newbie, pls be nice - should I catalog the whole collection, including condition & post here with asking price? Post pics to show covers, etc? What's the best way to sell here (or on CL)? All comments welcome.
will post my addy or PH# if that's best. thanks Mark

Almost forgot.Price your stuff.Nobody likes to have to ask how much something costs. We've been through that here before.

hmmm - pricing - are Overstreet or comics price guide (http://webmaila.juno.com/webmail/new/8?folder=Inbox&msgNum=00003_W0:001BdFa%5E00000Pnw&block=1&msgNature=all&msgStatus=all&count=1271467373) really close guides if I want to actually sell? If the 2 Green Lanterns are worth about $180, should I ask $100 for the 2 of them? $120?? Obviously, given the economy, low price value items will sell, but how far can I push a price before it's not really a fair market price? any suggestions? Most of the comics are not valuable. The Green Lanterns are probalby the most valuable, but even at $2-3 each for the other vintage ones, it adds up for the whole box. comments very welcome... Mark

Good question. And there are no set answers to give you.First determine what you have and the grade it is in.Probably to get the truest idea of what comics are actually selling for, check the ebay completed auctions of the books you have.yeah, their is a little work to that but it'll get you closer than any guide. Most books from the 1980's & up can be had for pennies on the dollar. If your Solar & Magnus are Valiant books the market is flooded except for a couple of the earlier keys.
If you want to ,post a list of what you have and we'll apraise them for you.Don't worry,we won't steer you wrong. This is a great group of folk here & we'll help you all we can.

toz1060 - thanks for your comments. I know I should do an inventory, including grade, year, vol, issue number, clean pics of covers - all the relevant details. I'll get to work on it.... and check back in after I have the whole task completed.... thanks so much for your suggestion and support. I truly appreciate it.

Just so you know, your link is pointing to an email box. The link is http://www.comicspriceguide.com/Default.aspx. I am finding it very difficult to price out comics via ebay sold lately. I am seeing sellers asking crazy prices and things selling relatively low. But again I am not selling 10 and 12 centers. I have been using CPG and http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/ to see what other sellers are requesting for certain issues. For the most part moderns and even copper issues are just flooded.
I would post a new thread in the Sellers Corner here and we can possibly help you with pricing and grading. Do you have any experience with comics? The list will not take too long to put together. Just organize the comics by title and before you know it they are fully catalogued. If you need any further help just ask but I would have this thread moved to the Sellers Corner.
Thanks Toz for the kind words. I try but Illuminated has the goods! My pocketbook fears his sales threads.

jnine - thanks so much for your comments. I think the market is in flux now. Vintage comics with a following will sell, but prob at a reduced price from what Overstreet or other guides say they should fetch. I'll brush up my grading skills and post my collection ASAP...

Check with eBay under completed listings and you'll see what other's have sold for (or haven't sold for) in the past. Judge that with a guide price and you should be able to guess market value approx.
