...which I have just realized was absolutely dreadful. You probably all know the story from the movie if nowhere else. Plucky cute little orphan struggles on through adversity and occasional riches with her plucky cute little doggy during the Depression. Hints of class warfare (Daddy Warbucks was a parody of evil capitalists making fortunes in armaments, even though he was a kindly character in the strip). So the storyline didn't age gracefully, which is forgivable, but take a look at the artwork.

Pretty much the same group of blob characters, panel after panel. The writing is ...turgid? Is that a word? Rant over, I guess you've gathered I'm not a Harold Gray fan.

Yeah, ummm, well, the thing is, some comics are, ummm... bad. This was one. I've just tripled the number of panels I've read in my life, and feel worse for it. Just awful.

Thanks!
