Does anybody have any of these GA Marvel Milestones and if so what's your opinion on them?

Um, your list of Marvel Golden Age seems a little confused.
Did you mean Timely and the Marvel Comic that became Marvel Mystery or the later comics about 1948 when Timely changed into Marvel? The one's I have read were simplistic but enjoyable. I had about 60% of the Marvel Mysterys at one time or another. I collected them for the Mickey Spillaine stories.

What I meant is the GA books under the title Marvel Masterworks, not milestones, I think.
Marvel Mystery Comics Masterworks
Human Torch
Captain America
Sub Mariner
All Winners
all first print and first volume, I'm not even sure most of these have second volumes. Any way, I paid $150 including S/H in an outside of eBay deal, but still haven't received them and the seller is not confirming my payment has been rceived. A little worried at this point. His name is Gregg White, out of Florida and his eBay ID is wed55santa. I spoke with him on the phone and he seems like a stand up guy, but no response yet. I'm a little worried.

Any word on the books? I have pulled out my old FF and Spidey Masterworks so I can post them.
Most of the Golden Age was fairly unreadable.

I know exactly what you mean. I've got some of the EC slipcased multi volume reprints (hard covers), and they look too nice to actually take down and read. I've got Weird Science, Haunt of Fear, and one more I think. Maybe after retirement.

Campy .. yes but it was a different time with different events shaping the stories. There are lots of fantastic Golden age stuff that puts many current stuff to shame. I love the old Timelys they had amazing art really cool stories. Sure they were consumed by war and cold war but that consumed the history of the time.
The Captain Marvel Adventures Mr. Mind serial was probably one of the best stories ever written including today. No loose ends, no botching continuity, no back to back "big events" with bull crap ending or leads into more "big events", there are only two titles that have been able to caputure the magic of some of those old books and that was Alan Moore's run on Supreme and the first 30 or so issues of The Invaders from Marvel in the 70's and 80's.
Heck if you read enough super-hero stuff across the ages all you will ever find is the books get "darker" as you go along. No mater how big, small, dark, light etc they all just endlessly repeat a basic set of storylines.

And that last sentence is why I am not reading them anymore. I just don't know what's left. Real life? That's a concept. My own work.... That's work. Work is hard.
