Most of the IDs that I banned comes from Germany. I did a bit of sleuthing on it. Maybe the block isn't applied to Germany? How about it, Hoss?

Sorry about the overload of spam of late, the nasties have really been hitting the net since the first of the year, over 350 new spam ID's created since 1-1-11. We're working on it and for now new registrations have been disabled. Unfortunately this may discourage new legit members as well, but until the Russians and Chinese get over their spam fetish, it's the best we've got!

I am on a few other boards that when I signed up I had to wait until I got a message from the webmaster... I didn't have a problem with it... just let the newbies know that up front that there is a waiting period...

Privateer Press, the people mentioned above, have also put a hold on new membership while they deal with the problem spammers.

They actually took their boards down yesterday for a while to try and get a handle on things.
