I think most of the movies have sucked so far.
X-Men- I think one sucked, two was a little better and three was soooo bad.
They just seem to be a bunch of priveleged adults, not the teens they were supposed to be, with flat personalities and abilities that were way too comfortable for them. The only one who has any trouble with there abilities is Rogue. Storm is horrible, no history and Haley was just not the right actress for the part. She'll never be the leader of the X-Men. The mansion is too much a....Mansion. The danger room was introduced way too late and should have been a focal point of how they learned to work together and not a short one scener. All in all, I think the story of how they learned about each other and learned to work together was terribly lacking when it should have been the focus of the movies.
Daredevil- UGHHHHHHHH! Horrible, all the parts were poorly cast, with maybe the exception of Froggy and Kingpin, although watching DD and Sin City back to back sort of leaves the Kingpin looking lame. The fight in the little park is just stupid. Colin Farrel is horrible as Bullseye and the direction of the actors must have been bad, because whenever they are acting for a blue screen you can see it. And where was DD's gymnastic flying through the city? This movie just sucked. The only good thing about this DVD is the making of where they constantly make excuses for how bad the movie is by stating that they didn't have enough budget.
FF- Not bad, but my main problem, which is one with all of the superhero movies is that they adjust to their powers way too easily. Especially when you consider that in this movie they are the only superheroes the world has ever known. I like the Doom actor and think that actually, all of the actors were well cast.
Hellboy- I loved this one, I just think it worked, but maybe that's due to the fact that this story doesn't involve the public as anything but something to be hidden from. I also didn't ever read the books.
Superman- I am watching this for the second time and love it, it's perfect. I have almost no Superman's, except for #199 because I like The Flash, and don't like this wholesome do gooder as far as comics go, but I loved this movie.
Elektra- Uhmm, I don't know, it wasn't absolutely horrible, but bad. I don't like Jennnifer, just something about her...But the plot, although very predictable, was OK, I guess.
HULK- Jennifer Connelly, I think she's the most stunning woman on the planet. The movie was great, I loved it. I think Eric Bana as BB, Sam Elliot, Josh Lucas and Nick Nolte were all perfectly cast and did great jobs, I think this was the best of the movies and Ang Lee directing, need I say more. This movie rates a 5.9 on IMDB.COM and X-Men #3 gets a 7.0, is there no justice in the world? I know that a lot of people complained early on that the movie was really two halves and the first was better than the last, but I don't see that, I think the movie was good all the way through.
OK, I know there's more, but I'll let y'all post some and then come back.

X-Men- First was okay. Parts of #2 were good but mostly it sucked. #3 was bad except for Kitty Pryde which was actually the first Kitty character I liked ... ever.
FF- I didn't mind it. I was expecting alot of dramatic license and got it. The Ben/Johnny relationship was done well.
Hulk- One of the worst movies ever.
DD- Okay not great though
Punisher- Lame as the character.
Hellboy- Good
Sin City- Awesome
Superman- the first one is still the best. The most recent was okay until the last 20-30 minutes which were very weak.
Elektra- Not very good but not awful
Spiderman- First was okay second was one of the best super hero films I have seen.
i'll weigh in on more later.

Spiderman 2 is absolutely the best superhero movie ever made, that is, until 3 comes along. X-Men 2 ranks behind SM2. I thought the Punisher movie (new not the old Lundgren movie) was so and so, it stays close to the books. Superman Returns was so ans so, on the premise that he didn't show much in terms of action with LL.

Superman Returns - really good. did not disappoint after all these years of waiting.
Batman Begins - enjoyed it at the theater but can't get myself to watch the whole movie at home.
Spider-man 2 - yes, the best superhero/comic book movie ever.
Spider-man 1 - awesome movie.
Sin City - stunning visuals. that's a movie I can watch over and over.
Hulk - it had good moments but I didn't like the way the CGI turned out. I thought I was watching an animated movie/live action hybrid.
Elektra - i thought the little girl was annoying. I wished they had a different plot.
Daredevil - so so. Affleck was okay but perhaps a different actor and director would've made it a better film.
X-Men movies - I enjoyed all of them, X2 most of all.
Fantastic Four - very entertaining but not nearly as good as it could have been.

I just don't get it, I loved the Hulk. I thought that the screen in screen was briliant, it was the first use of cinemetography that really made me feel like I was watching a comic book movie.
PUNISHER-- I hate, absolutely hate the character, he is everything that was trying to be said in "Comic Book: The Movie" When the super hero turns into a S.W.A.T. type hero. Charles Bronson meets caped crusader. That being said, I watched the two movies back to back and the Dolph version is practically the same.
Captain America--Not mentioned so far, but really a prequel to the HELLBOY movie.

"Daredevil - so so. Affleck was okay but perhaps a different actor and director would've made it a better film."
Uhhhh yeah, ya think. I hated A fleck. His DD reminds me of how pissed I got when our local movie reviewer wrote that Clooney was the best Batman ever.
And as far as Batman goes, I was really hopeful about the new movie, but again, great feeling, lacking in plot. They tried and it's close, but it lacked that non techno reliant edge. The Batman that is closer to a man than a Superman. The Batman that fights real people, the Batman that is human.
I still say that the first Batman is the best yet. I am a huge fan of Bale, just look at what he did with his body between "American Psycho" and "The Machinist". I hope that he continues to be Batman, but I want to see more of the GA Batman, gritty, fist-a-cuffs, a man on the edge, as close to being a villiain as he is a vigillante. We'll never get anywhere if they keep marketing to the modern age techno reliant crowd.
Maybe a GL movie will bring it back to the GA?

I pretty much agree with you, the Ben-Stormy relationship was fun and in general the movie was fun.
But why the Hulk hate...WHY?
Sups does get weak at the end, but it was still good for a remake, which is how I think of it.
Kitty was the best, absolutely the best.
As far as spidey #2 goes, I will have to watch it again.

A History of Violence is a pretty decent film made from a graphic Novel. I quite liked that one.
Sin City is probably to date the most honest and reverential adaptation of a comic.
I enjoyed both Spider-mans and the first 2 X-men films, but I don't feel a need to own them.

But why the Hulk hate...WHY?
Well the CGI was terrible, the story was bad, ..... well other than Jennifer Connely being in it there is nothing I could say positive about it. I is a truly horrid adaptation right up there with 2010 and the televison adaptation of Stephen King's It (the first one since I think there may have been two). Without a doubt it is Ang Lee's biggest dud.
Sups does get weak at the end, but it was still good for a remake, which is how I think of it.
Well even thinking of it as a remake (I don't know how I would btw) doesn't really fix it for me. They made the mistake of not starting fresh. Trying to match the mythos of the Reeve era was a mistake. It set the standard too high or alienated younger fans. The old goofy campiness just doesn't work for me now.
Supes has gone through alot since those first movies. It is not as campy/cheesy as it was in the 80's. (Nor is it dark and gritty.) They could have played off the Smallville series which is a very decent modernization of Superboy.
Kitty was the best, absolutely the best.
I haven't read Astonishing X-Men or Ultimate X-Men yet but I always thought of Kitty as having chicken powers --- the ability to run away from threats without being bound by barriers. All I ever remember her doing was heading the opposite way of trouble or freaking out. This movie at least made her a independent modern teenager with angst but not crippled by it.
As far as spidey #2 goes, I will have to watch it again.
Well if you didn't like it you didn't like it. No big deal.

I have been thinking abut something and I'll just say it now, Kitty is the best character in the X-Men movies because she isn't a super model. They are all so perfect that it is hard to believe that they can have any problems. Rich, gorgeous, powerful beyond human strength, where's the problem?

I'll have to watch Spidey #2 again, I didn't say I didn't like it, I'll just have to watch it again.
OK here goes:
X-Men: I really liked the first and second chapters. The third one just really didn't have the same feel as the others.
Fantastic Four: I liked this one except for Dr. Doom. They really blew it there. All in all it was OK. Ben and Johnny really made some great parts.
Spider-Man: I loved all three of em. We'll I'm just SURE that part 3 won't let me down either!
Spawn: It could have been a lot better with a better budget, actors and script. bleh.
Hulk: I LOVED this one. I'm in the minority here I'm sure, but hey...
I don't know what.
Daredevil: I liked it. I really don't know much about the character though.
Elektra: This one was pretty bad except for the good parts...I just don't remember the good parts.
Swamp Thing: I saw this one when I was but a wee lad, I wonder if it's on DVD so I can refresh my memory.
Punisher: I really liked this one! Here's another character I'm not familiar with. I've recently started reading "Punisher" from Max and it's moving up on my favorites list. War Journal was great too...the new CW tie in issue was just great.
That's all the movies I can think of off the top of my head.
I'm really looking forward to Spidey 3, Ghost Rider and Quasar: The Cosmic Avenger.

"I'm really looking forward to Spidey 3, Ghost Rider and Quasar: The Cosmic Avenger."
Dude, I'm looking forwrd to all comic book movies they are so much better, in general, to most of the crap that is being made, which sort of scares me. I kinda think that the more a moralistic good interpretation of what can be is shown in media the more that future wont happen. I'ts almost as if, we see it represented, and then feel it's been done, but it really hasn't. I fantasize about the day that us comic book fans stop following stories and start making them. Imagine if all of us started to cme together and work to make a better world. WE could all where capes then.

I will see spidey 3 but I will pass on Ghost Rider and Quasar since they do not interest me in the slightest. Frankly I am getting tired of them and if the current pace keeps up I expect that I will start skipping out seeing most of what comes out....especially if they keep choosing to make movies of these second string heroes.
Excellent! The Quasar movie movement has begun!
Oh well, hope springs eternal...:(

Was it just me or was the animated Hellboy movie on Cartoon Network only a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles plot with Usagi Yojimbo color and an ending out of that Miller armless Samari comic??
FF liked but was disappointed
ASM liked and liked (you can put her in a wet T-Shirt on her anytime)
X-Men Yep Yep Yawn
It needed to be Daredevil and Electra not one of each
Hulk was OK I still enjoy it for free
Punisher was punishment enough
Baywatch Boy as Nick Fury still has me laughing for the casting alone
Daredevil was OK but needed a storyline somewhere. Mail it to me now if is OK
Sin City was lifechanging. The senator's speech is awesome in depth
Hellboy was as close to perfect as a movie can be!

Yeah! Someone agrees with me.
Rowand I'm with you on pretty much everything you said.
I have not seen the hellboy cartoon though and have no idea what you are talking about as far as Nick Fury. Are you saying that the knight Rider will be playing Nick Fury? That's just stupid. If they do that...I'll...I'll...Well, I wont go see it in the theater...yeah, yeah, I'll just wait till it's on DVD to watch it that's what I'll do. That'll teach 'em.

Although, I must say, Pam Anderson was on Baywatch and she looked great as Barb Wire. Maybe it's a new movement, Baywatch to Spandex heroes, not that far of a leap really.

One comic book movie that is not mentioned often "Constantine." It helped me in so many ways. It is one of the two DVD's I own and have bought on eBay a whole new look to my wardrobe based on his clothes. I have many white dress shirts, three pair of black shoes, two London fog trench coats, about ten pairs of black pants and two black leather belts. It didn't start with this movie. It all started when I was at a thrift store, looking for cool "weird clothes" like I've been doing since the 80's. I heard a, very typically, "Von Dutch" clad kid asking his friend if he knew where it was possible to find some AA shirts? Because that would be really weird and cool 'cause it made them so different to be cliche and counter and kitschey. They were soooo cool and I was hearing a conversation about clothes that was sooooo cool.f??? And, that same day I found myself close to our only hot topic and had a revelation. The only way to exercise change is to become the "unexpected" the "unaccepted" again, by becoming a "new republican". So, when I go out now, I shave and wear almost exactly what you see Constantiine wearing in the movie. Black shoes, Black Pants, White shirt, Black tie and a London Fog overcoat................My Friends compliment me, every one of them, no exception, which I think is weird. And others who don't know me treat me differently when I am wearing those clothes than I believe they would otherwise.
I recently spoke to another construction worker friend, not a bright guy, he never got any type of education because he was brought up in NM by alcoholics and never learned how to read very well, but he paints and is well connected via family with local galleries, and so, although he doesn't really understand modern art, has paintings of scenery and flowers, in local galleries with price tags of $1000+. He'll do fine in life, but....Anyway, he says that "Constantine" makes him not want to smoke.
I wear the clothes and keep saying I'll go to church, and one day I will. I feel different lately. I have stopped buying the clothes, I have enough, and I am not interested in the Fashinon world. I like the choir boy look. As if, you have to wear it but cannot/will not accept it somehow. I am a DD reader and recently bought a good run of Hellblazer, enough to read most of the series and mini's. I was bred as a non-practicing 1/2 Protestat and 1/2 Jew, although I find that most people when they hear that, call me a jew. My name means "God Lives"--YO=Jehovah, Hai=the symbol that many jews, especially sephardics's, have around there necks that looks like the PI symbol and is translated as "life". I believe in God, but not as a holy being that controls our actions. I bellieve in God as a belief. I remeber that Noam Chomsky said that the short sound bite conversations that shows like "Nightline" love are not meant for the type of thoughts he has due to the fact that he cannot shorten his theories into "communism is wrong" and "crimanals should be punished" because the ideas that he is searching into are new and not interpretal by catch phrases. CD, LMAO, NIB, MINT, the newspeak of Orwell's predicted world. Many people have seen movies like "Alexander" and due to that they wont even look at any other history of him. Two hours of images have killed there interest in history. Braveheart is not the "real" story but being Scotish and Irish and saying "Oy" is cool so why ask why? The critical mind is one that is....Well, the modern usage of the word "critical". How many times have you had one of your conversation's shut down by someone saying that you are "too critical"? I know that Socrates, had the same thing said to him, but I am still living it now and pissed off about it. AND I WONT DRINK POISON! But I do and am now, is that the moral to the story?
Why am I here?
What....If that is even the right word, is God?
What is Justice, because equality sure as fuck aint it. I know the whole Ayn Rand thing (intersting note is that they cut Tooie's charity worker relative out of the movie) but I just cannot bellieve that this thing in me that says I have to suceed and do something means that I either have to push people down to claw my way above them, or, more relevant to my life, that I am in competition with every artist that has ever lived. Or that I am Only here to "enjoy life." and to be "happy"? Am I just here to enjoy the Burning man festival and get high and laid?
I still want to be chalenged. And cannot find a healthy middle ground.
OK, I'm done.... For now, but I won't up, and havng a house or children or becoming a misanthropoic, (just knowing the meaning of the word in our language makes you one almost) hating person, or fantasies will ever make it OK.
So I ask you is heaven and hell real?

P.S. Sorry about the recent vomiting on this site done by me, I've been home drinking a lot and thinking a lot and needed to vent. I'm troubled by working for the total conformist boss I have who laughs at me for buying comics and asks why people pay so much for them. He is evil in so many ways that it bugs me and yet he pays me well. I just don't know what to do. Anyway, sorry.
