View Full Version : Round Whatever-It-Is of The World Famous CHANGE ONE LETTER GAME! 10 BONUS BOOKS!!!
The Charlton Guy
12-07-2006, 02:37 AM
That's right folks, step right up, don't be shy.
This time you are playing for 10 HIGH GRADE HIGH-FALLUTIN' BOOKS FROM THE CHARLTON GUY'S POISIONAL COLLECTION!!!
What Are they? Marvel or DC? Charlton or Red Tower?
I AIN'T TELLIN'!!!
It's TOP SECRET!!!
But the Rules of this here Game aren't Top Secret anymore...at least I hope not...
For you New-Comers, here's the poop:
1) Only one post at a time is allowed (you must wait for another Corral Member to post another word).
2) You will get severely chastised and castigated for posting the same word twice (Most likely by my Uncle Jeb, the guy with the cat o' three tails always at the ready).
3) You may or may not get bonus Corral Cash for Updates (think strategy, do you really want others to know all of the past words?).
4) No proper nouns allowed, or be prepared to Pay the Plutus. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a240/the-charlton-guy/mini-plutus-av.jpg
5) The Omnicient, All-knowing, All-Furren-And-Antiquarian-Word Accepting dictionary.com is the Standard Reference and Sometimes-Deciding Reference for All Acceptable Words.
6) I get to toss out or accept any word I want.
7) If nobody follows up to a word within 24 hours, it's LIGHTS OUT MEATBALL (right Linda?)
So roll up your Thesaurus, hit the books, and get ready to play:
ANOTHER NAIL-BITING ROUND OF THE CHANGE ONE LETTER GAME!
The Game begins with the first posted word, in my next post, which I will post soon...like any minute now...really soon....as soon as I find that damn Thesaurus...
HAVE FUN!

I actually din't post a reply because Rowand gave 'Bash' after 'Bush', so 'Tush' is not an acceptable follow-up word. Being new, I didn't know waht the rules were if someone mis-posted like that.

Bye the Bye Parsnip does TUSH qualify as a change to BASH?? If so, why?
Evil Parsnip
12-14-2006, 09:37 AM
A very good question.. I didn't even know that BASH was the word he was using.. I have to admit thinking that Rowand was just talking and not replying to the word since it was not highlighted or anything..
maybe the phrasing just threw me.. and I retract my winning claim.. but I think it was very unclear that Bash was the word.. else I clearly would have not answered with Tush.
Oh CG!!! I think we need a rules lawyer on this one... I think the game probably needs to continue... although I did think I had won and had no clue that BASH was being used as a word....
Maybe we need a rule that all words for judging need to be all CAPS!

Ahemmm...cough...ack...argggghhhh...and such.
My decision has been...acrrrrrk...made...ahemm.
And my decision shall be...ahemmm...gorphhck...FINAL!
Although Rowand's first post here in nearly six months months is...ahemmm...admittedly vague, I an obliged to let it stand as per Local Law Number A-1000567-B of the Penal Code.
I love that word...PENAL....heh...heh heh...
As for the 24 hour time lapse, I am Loathe, LOATHE I say, to let another pile of great books go on 24 hour default (and, ahemmm, LOATHE to ship to Borneo....). So as of this Ruling, the 24 hour Law is NO LONGER IN EFFECT for this Round!
And from this day forward? Unless your posted word is either capitalized, on a single line or otherwise distinguished from an otherwise non-sensical post, the penalty will be...ahemmm...GRAVE! Much too GRAVE to spell out here in front of the women and children!
You may commence with your pitiful whining and the never ending appeals process if you insist, but I remind you that I am the FINAL AUTHORITY on all decisions in this Round!
Besides...ahemmm...you are furrowing my brow and making my hair grow limp with this nonsense.
The Game now continues!
Current word is:
BASH

As always fair and just!
Sorry again for the vagueness. My posting muscles are limp and flabby after being so long out of use! Where's my personal trainer anyway?
If anyone found the posting without sense -- my overpaid movers dropped my computer while moving me into my new digs. 90 Days later they offered me 40c a pound in compensation. About $12 total. That amount didn't repair the damage done and I had to save up to get a new motherboard installed. It is my Christmas present.
Bye the Bye, Local Law Number A-1000567-B of the Penal Code deals with a flagrant misinterpertation of the term "Animal Husbandry" and the word "PENAL!"

baic

Hello Dali! Are Yunnan a good time?

Hi rowand,
Can we use a language? I seem to remember getting a word dismissed because it was the name of a language. CG are you around??

Linda
P.S How old was your wife when she had ya'll little girl? I'm 50 and I can't even wrap that around my mind to think I would have a baby at 53!!! Of course my Grandfather was 68 when my Dad (he was the oldest) was born but my Grandmother was only 33!
rowand
12-30-2006, 09:46 PM
The word is in the procribed Dictionary.com and listed in lower case so it is not a proper name. It deals with neither computers nor is it a foreign word since it is the English word for that dialect. It seems to fit in the rules.
Wifey was 38 upon delivery after 103 days of labor. Hail modern medicine! I robbed the cradle and now I'm the at home dad taking care of its occupant! Not ezpecting any grandchildren though.

LAIC efforts to disprove any religious belief in foreign named words gathered into English to create a way to describe said lingo.
Here is a convienent back up word for BAIC just in case the name of a foreign dialect is considered tref by the judge.

But as I am a long-time scholar and afficianado of the Tibeto-Burman language, AND an ex-member of the clergy, I find both words to be acceptable in this Game. But for now, the word "laic" is a moot point and may be used again, as I am accepting the use of "baic".
We will follow the word-path from the first word in question ("baic", and we end up with WAIL as the current word (posted by the foot-weary Doc).

and the current word is JAIL by me
the whole "boiz" acceptability argument over the use of slang and patois in this game is tabled for a later hair-pulling session. Jhil and Bhil have been disallowed, gotten married, and moved off to a foreign land to raise tiny eyebrows.
I have commited the error of repeating a word twice now and both times my illegal attempts were to a disallowed string of entries that got ret-conned out of the game. It is better to be lucky than smart. Well easier anyway! :D
