Post your car humour magazine collecting efforts here!
I'll start. Here are scans of my earliest Drag Cartoons issues:

"Big Daddy" Roth "joined" the staff of Pete Millar's Drag Cartoons with issue #4:

http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182150PM.jpg
"Big Daddy" was featured in a one page story in issue #4:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182205PM.jpg
The issue also contained both an ad for Roth's T-shirts:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182215PM.jpg
Plus another for the "Big Daddy" Roth fan club:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182219PM.jpg
The artwork for both the stories and the ads appears to be by Pete Millar himself. This Millar drawn ad for subscriptions is reflective of the general zaniness featured in the magazine:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182210PM.jpg
Drag Cartoons also invariably featured a membership ad for the National Association for the Advancement of Flatheads:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/23-05-201182155PM.jpg
Let me solemnly assure everyone that I would certainly have joined this august association had I the money at the time.

http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Balticprince/Comics/DragCartoons7.jpg
These all contain two page "Big Daddy" Roth stories as well as ads for his T-shirts and fan club membership. The back of issue #7 also has this super cool membership ad for the NAAFH:

That issue of the Best of Drag Cartoons came out after Pete Millar had sold the magazine in 1968 after 49 issues to his printer Rex Publishing. Rex continued to publish Drag Cartoons without Millar for several years with the numbering started anew. In conjunction with the regular issues, Rex published five or so Best of Drag Cartoons issues, the first two as the Best of Pete Millar's Drag Cartoons which would indicate that they contained material from the first 49 issues.
But without Pete Millar's contributions, Drag Cartoons lost its former zaniness and just was not the same. In fact, the first 25 or so issues were probably the best part of the run.
Here are scans of the four "Big Daddy" Roth issues that Millar Publishing also put out in the mid sixties:

Wow! Very tough books, Hepcat. Something that drives me nuts is Overstreet not including most Millar or Petersen books in the guide. I get after Arnold every time I see him, but still no entries. The Stan Lee fumetti books get in, but except for the 4 Big Daddy Roth books, Millar and Petersen are left out in the cold. It ain't right.

The Millar and Petersen magazines were listed in the Overstreet guide in the earlier years. The listings disappeared with Overstreet 12 or Overstreet 13 though. Philistines!

I thought I remembered the Drag books being listed! Not sure about some of the more obscure titles.
There must be a story there. Some reason the titles were pulled...

Cherry!
Do you have any of the really obscure books like the early digests, or the later chopper mags? (There were two; CycleToons and something else I can't remember.)
What do you consider the rarest of the Petersen books?

Do you have any of the really obscure books like the early digests....
I have CARtoons 2 and 3 which together with #1 were the ones digest sized. I don't have #1.
...or the later chopper mags? (There were two; CycleToons and something else I can't remember.
I have many of the Cycletoons. They and the Hot Rod Cartoons are actually quite common in comparison to the earliest CARtoons magazines.
Surftoons are tough to find though. I only have a single issue out of the eight or so published. The one shot Skitoons is also really tough to find.

When I was 13 a neighbor tried to give me a nice pile of these 'cause, he was "too old for them." I took the comics and said no thank you for these. He was miffed (a bit). They were free after all and he wanted to find them a nice home. I just didn't get it.
Haven't remembered that, 'til I saw this thread, in 40 years.

That's why they're so bloody hard to find now. Everybody pitched them then.

Don't worry. I didn't "pitch them." I just gave them back. :-)
