This can go along with the worst artist thread.

Topping my list of favorite artists is Alex Ross. I just love his realistic style. I think the best Ross art is on Kingdom Come. I just love that story!

I've also liked Sal Buscema a lot. I love the Hulk stuff and especially the stuff on Spectacular Spidey. I know i may be the only Sal fan around!

As far as comics go, y'all might laugh at me but I am pretty typical when it comes to artists
Frazetta
Schomburg-Its surreal the way he draws those crazy scenes with the not quite right perspective kinda broke up into three frames, little guys here, big super heroes there and the, of course tied up chick somewhere.
Frank Miller-His DD changed the way I looked at movement in comics.
Jim lee-although I also hate him
Eastman and Laird
Neal Adams- He was my first favorite, when I was 18 I took a course at one of those Miami Universities, I can't remember right now which, with a guy who drew comics for a living, I still have a copy of his first comic art signed by him. The guys I was trying to draw like were Neil Adams and Eastman and Laird.

My Top Artist of all Time: John Byrne on X-Men. His best work. The Best X-Men ever. Nothing he did afterwards quite compared.

My current top artists are:

Bryan Hitch: I love his detail and his dynamic, dimensional style. Too bad the man is totally incapable of churning a book in a monthly schedule.

Alex Ross: It's sooo preeettyyyy. Ross has a grip on anatomy and storytelling that very few today have.

Alan Davis: Pretty underrated, if you ask me. His storytelling is so full of energy and vitality, love it.

Neal Adams: Wow. Just wow.

My Top Artist of all Time: John Byrne on X-Men. His best work. The Best X-Men ever. Nothing he did afterwards quite compared.

Although Byrne is not my absolute favorite artist, few can match his art on the X-Men.

Bernie Wrightson is my favorite horror artist. Ghastly (Graham Engels) was great, but Wrightson is better.

Jim Steranko is one of my favorites. His art was innovative and ahead of his time.

I love Steve Ditko stuff. Admittedly, a lot of people don't care for his eccentric style, but I dearly love his Charlton work.

Frank Frazetta always been one of the top artist for me. I love his covers.

Wally Wood did wonderful stuff in the 50's. He did beautiful women beautifully.

There are quite a few more artists I admire; Al Williamson, Jim Starlin, Frank Miller, Barry Smith, and the list goes on and on...

But like most of you, Neal Adams epitomizes for me what a comic book artist is. His art will stand the test of time. He is the best.
