Well I suppose this can be the Copper Age thread until you convince the rest of us that there's enough good stuff from the Copper Age to merit its own forum.

BTW, I noticed you didn't mention either the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cerebus, Bone or FemForce. Is that because you think they're trash or did those books not appear within your Copper Age boundaries?

Never read that much of TMNT until it hit the masses & got dumbed down.Gonna get around to Cerebus one of these days in the phone book editions. It's just too big for me to get into right now.

Bone? Absolutely LOVE Bone!Read the whole thing at least three times now.

Fem Force is great too, pick them up when I can get them in lots fairly cheap.Just have more stuff higher on my list right now.Kudos to Bill Black.

Pretty much mentioned Pacific & Eclipse because they were the first to come to my mind.

For me the Copper age ended around 92-93 when I got really burnt out on comics

I'm still not convinced this Copper Age even exists.

Plus, I'm still of the mind that this board has entirely way, way, way too many sub-secstions and sub-boards for the number of users and posts. Though I can view posts from last 24 hours to see what's happened, if I don't do that in any given 24-hour period, I entirely miss that threads have been posted or posted to. Cuz, I'm not going to open all the sub-boards looking for stuff.

Hey, there's gotta be an easier way. Maybe the advanced search allows me to look for all threads updated within a range greater than 24 hours. Hmmm. Indeedily-doodily, it do (http://www.comicscorral.com/forums/search.php?searchid=126349)!

That's my new board bookmark! All threads updated within past two weeks, sorted by most recent activity. New rises to the top. Categories be damned! Old School!

So, now I can stop complaining about that. Bring on the Copper Age board!

I am a fan of BA and MA. I kinda skip over the CA. There are a few series I like but not many.

I should clarify this statement. I really consider myself a DC collector and everything else I just read and normally sell. From a DC standpoint I don't really like much that came from the 80's. Yes, Dark Knight Returns and Suicide Squad was in the 80's. So I know that there are good things from that era but overall it doesn't appeal to me. The only reason I even have any Batman/Detective comics from this decade is because of the Batman/Catwoman relationship and team-up.

On a non-DC side, I love Katy Keene and I just got California Girls which both series are from the 80's. I read Twisted tales which I too enjoyed. I just tread carefully when purchasing comics from this era.

I like the Copper age covers, it is when I first started reading comics. It has a place in my heart and that's why some covers from that era rocks!

There are some really go cheap runs from this era. I own a ton of DC from this era which I picked up for pennies.

Growing up in the 80's (if this would be the Copper age, but not clearly defined yet), I admired the covers of the Buscema Avengers, the Byrne FF, the Zeck Punisher and Captain America, the Frenz and JRJR ASM, the Simonson Thors. Just to name a few.

Yarg, that's what I can't get a handle on. In my head, this mythical age is pretty much 1980-1989.

Some folks stretch bronze all the way to 1986.

I'm generally not too comfortable pushing it very far past 1980.

I started buying comics off the rack in 1979, and bailed around 1985 or 1986, when other things demanded my funds. Some nice covers, but I have far more fave covers from the 70s than 80s.

I like the covers for the opposite reason. I stopped collecting comics sometime before the Bronze Age ended and looked at very few books until 13 years ago. So, for me the stuff that came out of the Copper Age is fairly new and exciting, if that makes any sense.

I know what you mean, I stopped buying comics at around 1995. It was until after the first X-Men movie that I got a relapse in comics. I went ahead and bought up many comics from the time period that I didn't collected comics. New and exciting, yep!
