What is up with DC and Marvel lately?? The amount of late books seems to rie each month. Late comics make retailers loose money and readers loose interest. Nobody comes out winning. Let's make a list, shall we?
DC:
All Star Batman & Robin the Boy Wonder
All Star Superman
Aquaman Sword of Atlantis
Green Lantern
Justice League of America
Superman/Batman
Wonder Woman
MARVEL:
Amazing Spider-Man
Civil War
Daredevil: Father (still waiting for #6, final issue)
Ultimate Wolverine & Hulk
Young Avengers

Well I certainly do not like it when publishing is irregular. I have dropped many books in the past because of it. It often ends out that most of them were not really that well written in the first place even though they were pretty to look at.
About all I can say is that you should voice your concerns to the publishers and maybe get others to do so. I don't suggest boycotting as that could actually end out getting a book canceled or something.
I can comment on a few of the books in the list though. Young Avengers is on hiatus until Civil War is done and I have no clue why it is behind. Young Avengers was very slow to ship to start with too because of Allan Heinberg who seems not to have any concept of deadlines.
Wonder Woman is suffering from Heinberg too. I know that the Dodsons are not to blame as they have stated that they are having no problem doing the artwork in the set deadlines.
The All-Star books are being done by folks with no real desire or motivation to get the book out on time. In the end I think that only the Superman title is the one losing out as it has got WAY better reviews. The Batman one has not had good reviews. I dropped the batman one because it just look terrible art wise and it never comes out.
Justice League is not really that far behind ... maybe a few weeks and I think it is just unfortunately got a few creators on it that have way too much on their plate. Either that or Meltzer just cannot quite keep up a comic writing pace .... he wasn't a comic writer until fairly recently and before I think he was only doing novels.
The rest I cannot comment really. In the end I don't really worry about how late books are unless they are so late that it starts interfering with my pick-up schedule. If it is only a mediocre book I will often just drop it and wait for TPBs.
I'm stil waiting for Ultimate Hulk and Wolverine #3...:(

I had forgotten about Ultimate Wolvie... only #1 and 2, that's sad.
Ox, you bring a lot of good points. I just hope the guys at the publisher houses get it together. I thought we had been making some progress getting out of the mediocre early 90's groove, but not being able to publish several books on time is just unprofesional.

Agreed. There is nothing worse than a book that cannot meet schedules. Late once or twice by a few weeks is okay but as bad as some of the books you listed is unacceptable. Wonder Woman, for example, was disgraceful. They bumped it from monthly to bi monthly then could not even meet that schedule.
DC and Marvel need to lose their 90's Image attitude. For Marvel it will be hard considering their Editor in Chief is infamous for not being able to keep to a schedule.

Indeed he is. I mean, it would be one thing if it was only one book everyonce on a while, but it's hard to notice because most of these books are eagerly awaited by fans.

Everyone should start writing letters to DC and Marvel demanding that they get their titles back on schedule. It's too bad that DC doesn't publish a letter column in any of their titles anymore(just that weekly Didio column). Still there is no reason why all the comics fans couldn't start writing letters demanding that they get their books back on schedule. In fact, let's all do that, let's start a letter writing campaign demanding better treatment! DOWN WITH LATE COMOCS!#oldie#
