Has anyone here been following the release of Complete Avengers from Rittenhose Archives? I'm not sure if any of you collect comic cards, and I usually don't get all that wound about them myself. This set though had my curiosity piqued as soon as I heard about it. There is one hand drawn sketch per box.
I cracked a box of them this afternoon, and here's the sketch I got:

We've slowly been following this set up to its release last month over at my forum. Get the skinny on the cards over there:

Tons of the sketches are available on ebay right now, and they seem to be selling very well. Search "Complete Avengers", and you should not be able to miss it.

So, I guess I'm the only one here into these?
I really don't buy comic cards. I like those sketch cards though. Is that the only one you have so far?

Yup. I've only opened one box and they've been selling really well on ebay, so I haven't landed any there. I did get the Roy Thomas autograph on ebsy for a nice price though, and I'll be getting a Gene Colan on there very soon. As for more sketches, I'm sure once it cools off some the price will go down to more affordable ranges on many of them. They are bound to bounce around for years to come. You just won't have anywhere near as many to choose from as you do right now. I'm sure I'll buy more of them as time goes on.

I have never really been into cards but I wouldn't mind getting all the 1960's Batman cards...they're pretty cool. That Captain America sketch is pretty good..I like the artwork.

I got whole boxes of cards in the 90's and sold them on eBay, some of my first sales, and really didn't make my money back. I still have some, none of which I ever even look at other than my full Mint set, including stickers, blue border Star Wars cards. I traded stupid 90's release Star Wars toys that I bought mostly at Wal Mart at cost for those at a local Gaming store. I don't like cards, I don't know why, I just don't like them. But....Is it really a hand done sketch card? Because if it's just a limited print "sketch card" I'll pass.
I still have some of those Holograms that were supposed to be so hot at the time including Star Trek and the Marvels and DC's, but I'll just let them sit for now, because they haven't become hot yet and may never. Anyway, I bought them new and cheap, so....
I also have tons of toys and all sorts of other supposedly collectible stuff. All in all, comics, reprint books, and eventually original art is where I'm at now.

Each sketch card is one of a kind, and it really is the original art right one the card, NOT a print. Whatever you pull is something no one else will have. I'm sure that is why they are selling so well on ebay.

I am digging on those sketches. They are going for stupid money on ebay though. I am not into cards either but anything captain america I usually end up buying. STL, you wouldn't want to part with that one would you? Preferably for a non-speculator price.

Sorry, but that one is a keeper. I likely would have kept whatever I pulled, but as soon as I saw that Cap sketch, I knew it was going nowhere but straight into my collection.
Keep an eye on ebay though. It's bound to cool off eventually, and the prices are sure to drop a little bit.

Yeah, I wouldn't sell it either. Cap fan or not. I just figured I would throw the hook out there to see if you would bite! I will do my best to be patient watching the ebay auctions! Happy holidays

Any interest in an autograph by Len Wein or Marv Wolfman? I party with them this month.
