Are movie toys the newest untapped market? I have these and I love them, they were so well done..... but I have sworn off toys, I got really addicted for a while and.... Here's the old sory I use to tell on my to listings Pre-Jared Bryan who shut me down with his trolling.
A BORING STORY ABOUT ME.... Hello, I've been a hard core toy collector for about 10 years. I used to think that they inspired me to do more art, that they would motivate me to work harder and that I would become a better sculptor. I had the entire Mcfarlane collection up to spawn series twenty three or so and over a thousand various others. In the places I rented I had glass shelves lining the walls and filled with toys. Toys hanging from the ceiling, toys in boxes, toys stacked up on the floor, under the bed-toys everywhere. I had no room to display the one's I owned and I kept buying more. Even if I didn't like them I bought more just to complete the collection. I was spending an average of $1,200-$1,800 a year for 10 years. I was an addict and I sacrificed a lot to get a collection of toys that people would invariably compliment me on and I would feel bad about because I knew that I had nothing to do with their creation and that all I had done was be a good consumer. I was borrowing money, paying bills late or not paying them at all and my life was suffering due to my compulsion. And then one night I had a little bonfire... Which would have been a bigger bonfire if it weren't for my neighbors complaining and threatening to call the cops, about the huge plume of noxious black smoke. The next day I was no longer a toy collector. That was about a year ago and I haven't bought a toy since. Now I'm finishing up my associate in fine arts degree and saving money to get into a good University and continue studying sculpter. The remainder of my toy collection is for sale to aid in that purpose. I always thought it was lame to keep my toys sealed in cardboard and plastic so you wont find many MOC, but most of them are in really good condition Any discrepancies shall be noted. OK, that's about it, maybe one day I'll put up the photos of the burning on a website, they're pretty cool. Ohw I still have most of those burnt toys, in a lump, in a jar.... Much easier to store. What a sales pitch huh

By the way, I have since decided to use the toys to make a big sculpture showing how I feel about compulsive buying and collecting, and No, you can't buy any of them from me. My vision, different than an idea, is to make a wave and at the tip of the wave will be one of my Superman toys. I think it will be a nice sculpture, but hard for me to start. It's hard to let them go as a collection, but it will be a part of my sculptur collection so how far have I actually traveled?
I have never really posted pix of my sculpture here, I don't yet have really good pix, but I will soon.
compulsive buying is paying for something that you don't really enjoy after you buy it and doesn't appreciate in value... at least that's my definition.
