Question: Judge Dredd

Modern? Copper? silver?


Old Dredd for some absurd reason has always captured my imagination and I've been a long term fan. Where in the world does he belong in the ages of comics? He was late 80s released into the US, but late to mid 70s in the UK. He's also quite common today although not as much in the US market.


So where does he fall into the ages?

I bought the first few issues of Judge Dredd (Eagle Comics). The Bolland art was nice but not enough to keep me interested in the character.

Never a big fan of the character, but I did wince when Stallone had a go at portraying him.

Nope, you're not alone! Took me quite a while to get the full run of Eagle issues off of Ebay. Finally somebody put up "Issues # 25-35" and I was all set! (Thosae last issues are harder to find) I remember reading the Apocalypse War issues when I was in high school, and I love the ultra-violence! Blow his head off, Dredd! :-)

I also liked the ABC warriors and the combat comic. Anyone for some old English Warrior digests?

Those digests are good stuff...

for some reason I really like English comics from the old war comics in digest form to Dredd, and Rogue Warrior to ABC Warriors and a few others.

I just thought the idea of that whole world was pretty gritty and different.

I loved the inclusion of the ABC warriors in the Stalone (I am the JAW!) version. Also of the Rogue combat series use of computerized battle gear.

SO Armand Asante is the twin brother of Sylvester Stalone? It could actually happen here in Hollywood. Somebody should have paid their plastic surgeon better though. Boob-Job Larry was a bad choice. Rob Snieder was obnoxious but I guess that was his part!
