100-Page Giants

I was over on the CGC Boards snooping around when I came across a thread about 100-page Giants.
I posted some of my own 100-page Giant books over there but only one was CGC graded so they probably don't really care about seeing them without grades.

Anyway, for those of us who own these Giants, let's post scans of our books. Maybe you can even grade them if you're feeling energetic.
Here's my run of BATMAN and BRAVE & BOLD 100-Page Giants.
I'll eventually scan and post my complete run of DC-4 to DC-22 (including the original DC-5 Love Stories) and all my other Giants from Flash to World's Finest to Superman to Our Army At War to Tarzan to....etc.

Hi Camper, how're you doing? I bought a run of about 10 Detective 100 pagers from CG last year, great reading. The only Batman I have is a 255 in NM.

Hey Malaprop, nice to hear from you.
How'm I doing?
Well, I totally kicked my ex-wife's a$$ (or rather the lawyer and judge did) during my Case Conference Tuesday.
This is the first of a series of Custody Trials I have dragged my ex-wife into.
She has denied me access to my three children for 5 months (June to November) , she denied me access to their school since September, she threw cops at me, she threw Children's Aid at me, she tried to get a Peace Bond against me, she came after me through the Family Responsibility Office for a fictitious $6,800 in support money, she got re-married and forced the kids to use his last name, etc. etc. etc. None of her tactics worked.

But it did take me until November and $6,500 later to get my access rights from my existing Court Order to be changed to Police Enforceable with a neutral/public pick-up and drop-off point and I had the Superior Court throw in a mutual non-harrassment clause in there.

Now that our application for the Office of the Children's Lawyer was approved and a lawyer was appointed for my kids last week, we were all interviewed individually and the kids' lawyer really nailed my ex-wife to the cross in Court Tuesday.
So things are looking really good for us. If anyone ever says the male never wins in custody trials, talk to me first.
Our next court date is in 2 months.
All three of my girls will be here tomorrow night.

Oh, uh....were you just asking how I was doing, generally speaking?

You da man!!! Keep it up, don't let the kids suffer as much and try to get this case over with as fast as you can so that they can adjust better faster. Trust me, I have a daughter, too. Not that I go thru the same thing you do but was a child of divorcees.

LOL, no, I actually really wanted to know. I remember you saying that you got swept to the curb with pretty much no warning. I wouldn't have been at all surprised if it had happened to me, but I used to be a villain. Now I'm a few steps closer to being a hero, so it would surprise me now. On the other hand, I only have to be concerned with 24 hours, so who's worrying.
Glad things are improving, for the kids' sake and yours.
One of my nightmares back then is that I would find out that during a business trip she had called the LCS and had them all hauled away for 10 cents each. AArgh.

Hey Camper,
Glad things are going well for you. I was also recently doing some research on 100 page giants and came across this site called the Collector's Society. It's got some very impressive collections including an incredible run of 100 page giants. The owner's user name is greggy and his 100 page giant collection is the best I've ever seen or heard of. I'm trying to put together a set myself, but I'd be happy with anything 8.0 or above.

By the way, did you know there really aren't 100 pages in a DC 100 Page Giant? That is unless you count the front and back of the front covers as four pages. There's actually only 96 pages within the covers. By the time you take out the ad pages (some have more than ten), there's even less comic story.

That collection is really nice, Camper. I have a few of those. The one I really like is #4. Wrightson cover with a few interior pages of his art.#cloud9# Wrightson rocks! That's one comic I will hang onto.

That #5 is hard to find. You really don't see very many, even in lower grade. Even though I'm really not interested in the genre and art, that's one I wish I had simply because of the scarcity.

This is cool! I loved looking at the 100 page covers. I noticed that the years on some of it were 1971. Marvel has been making Giant-Size books afterwards, was it Marvel's response to DC regarding these giants?

Used to have quite a few of these 100 pagers. I only have a few left from the series I still have interest in. About the only ones I would actually still like to get are the Young Romance, Young Love and the other Romance ones (Like that #5 above and the 1970 one).

I just finished splitting off part of our big rec room downstairs to create a bedroom for my oldest, she's 14.
I remember when I was her age, my parents gave me a bedroom in the basement. I was tickled pink....er, ah, tickled blue!
