Hi all.
I am extremely interested in one of the books in this seller's auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/DC-COMICS-YOUNG-LOVE-9-VINTAGE-ISSUES_W0QQitemZ270077424947QQihZ017QQcategoryZ397 7QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I've been looking for it for years and now that I finally find it, he won't ship to Canada (groan!).
Would anyone in the USA be interested in winning this auction then re-selling the auction over to me?
I would certainly pay for any and all shipping costs.

Sure Camper, I'd be glad to help. Why don't you give me the maximum you're willing to go, and I'll snipe it for you. You can E-Mail me.

Hey no fair!! That one is on my "watch" list.

I have been buying (and getting outbid) on lots of romance auctions over the past couple months.

I guess the price goes up......

DC Romance and the early issues of the Marvel romance books can be a bugger to win. It is a wildly fluctuating genre too. Sometimes you can score lots like this one for dirt cheap other times there is not enough money pressed to pull out a win. Finding solid VG and better is truly tough. The toughest DC ones, and this is rarely noted, are the last of the DC romances in the mid 70's. I rarely ever see them come up at all. I have not watched Romance book that much in the last year though. They are FAR to tempting to me. Many easily had some of the best art in comics for the time period ... imo. Many had wonderful covers too.

All I want is the Young Love 69.
I don't care about the rest of them.
Malaprop, I'll send you a PM with my max bid.
HABIB, if I happen to win, I can make you a sweet deal on the other ones.

Yikes! It is higher than I thought it would be. Is romance comics getting attention now that it's harder to find in higher grades?

Holy BAT-GOO Batman!
I wanted Young Love 69 (hey there's a joke in there somewhere) but not that bad. I'm still a cheap-skate...and I have a lawyer to pay.
Thanks for the offer Malaprop but I'll pass at that price.

No problem. (Thinking, oh goody, now I don't have to send him an E-Mail backing out of my offer).

Wow! I didn't think there were that many people collecting romance comics. I've avoided them like the plague since I started collecting. Must be my childhood memories of seeing my sisters reading them and thinking those were only for girls and sissies. I know there are some with art by my favorite artists. It's just that I've never pursued them. Maybe I should keep an eye out for them.

I agree on all three points. They featured fabulous art, they're very tough to find, but if you're lucky enough to find any they may be surprisingly inexpensive.
