My friend is now a registered rep for CGC here in Santa Fe, and I want to be his first customer, and use the friendship card to save myself some $. But he doesn't know anything about them. He are some of my questions:
1. Does the price increase according to the value of the comic? If so, how do they price the book, I have a TMNT #1 first pring I want graded and the OPG doesn't even give a price on that. Most of my other books are pretty nice, but their value will depend on what grade I get back from CGC.
2. Do I have to hand them over to him, or do I mail them myself? (He's a friend, but not that good of a friend)
I have more questions, but I cannot think of them now and have to go to work. Any direct links would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about giving books to friends to submit to CGC. Never heard of it. If I were you, I would submit it myself, just to be safe.

Give him a "test" book to get graded if you don't want to submit them yourself.
Make it a decent book but not one you would cry over losing.
Like a book (not a key book) you might consider a 9.4 or better from the Bronze Age such as a BATMAN 276 or something like that.

1. Price will vary on estimated market value. What you need to do is determine yourself the grade of the book. Then determine the what the price range of that book is which you can do by looking at sales on eBay, OPG listings, ComicLink, etc. There are only three or four price groupings and which group your book is submitted under will depend on the fair market value.
2. My understanding is that representatives do not have to submit your books for you they just give the particulars you need to fill out the submittal form so that it is recorded under their account.
3. Since they have to meet certain requirements to be an official representative I would not worry too much about handing a book over to them. HOWEVER, if you do have to hand the book over to them be sure that you have scanned images of the cover and record anything of note of the interior in writing and photographically if you can.
4. Most of your questions can be answered by visiting the CGC website:
http://www.cgccomics.com
There you should be able to figure out most of it and once you have your total you can then see how much your "friend" can save you. If the site cannot answer any of your questions to satisfaction you could also join their forum and ask the members any questions that are left. Just be sure you do a search before posting though because they may give you a rough ride if you ask a question that has been asked a million times before.

If you still feel uneasy after hearing what Ox had to say, I'd suggest calling them. You can ask to talk to Steve Borock himself. I know that is true as I've done it myself. I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with him one day talking all kinds of stuff.

CGC charges by Tier depending on the amount you insured the book for. Unless it's a huge difference, CGC usually goes by that. Even if you don't insure it, you have to state a value.
I can understand that you want to be your friend's first customer, but if you don't get a 20% discount, I would send them in myself (not me, but you know what I mean :-) Unless that's what a "friendship card" is, a 20% discount. (never heard of it)
"I have a TMNT #1 first pring I want graded and the OPG doesn't even give a price on that"
It doesn't? The 34th Edition does, page 826 (that's the last one I bought).
Good luck. Double check if you have to pay the Comic sub price or the Magazine sub price. I think this goes under Magazine slabbing.

Thanks guys, I figured it out.
Stu, yeah, I'm was guessing that it fell under mag pricing, cuz it's oversized.
Busy working on my art lately. Here's something interesting to look at. I'm gonna make one for a friend cuz I owe him big and this guy wants like sick money for one.
