View Full Version : How far behind are you on your comic reading?
Currently, I'm caught up on most of my current comics, but I still have a ton of back issue comics to catch up on someday.
I've managed to piece together FF #200-350 solid, but I just can't get around to reading those. Also, I was sorely disapointed when I finished Superman: The Man of Steel #1-30. I read the first issue only to find out it was continued in one of the other Superman books...of course I didn't have that issue though.
For some reason I like to build up tons of issues/runs before I read them. I have Y the Last Man #12-current. I plan on reading that one when I get those first few issues. Same thing with Loveless, DMZ and a few other titles. Heather reads those too and she says they are good, so at least I hope I don't think I'll be disappointed!
How's your back issue pile looking?

No back issues for me.
I wait for the trades and then I read like crazy.

I'm like Hoss! I haven't even read "Civil War" yet because I'm waiting so I will have the issues before I start. So if y'all don't hear from me for more than a day it means I'm reading them!!!

I try and stay pretty close to caught up on the new stuff every week mostly for the reviews I do. I am however way behind on my overall reading. There's just way too much and far too little time.

I'm up-to-the-date on current comics. It's the back issues that I'm behind. I'll have to get runs of 20,40,50 issues in a row before I read them. It's very enjoyable on rainy days, wife going shopping,etc...

I'm holding on to my copies of Justice and will read them when the run is complete. Otherwise, I tend to lose the thread, forgetting what happened from month to month.
Recent example: The Luna Bros' Girls. I found I had to go back and skim the previous issue before reading the new one, and this caused me to think that maybe the issues weren't that memorable, the story not so great.
However, I decided to reread them from #1 over a couple of days and I was surprised at how richly developed the characters were, and how compelling the plot was. Only trouble is now I over-eager for the last two issue.
I prefer single issues, so I guess I'll keep letting the long arcs pile up until I can read them all at once.

Man, I am WAY behind on some series, like Marvel's other event, which didn't get nearly the play that CIVIL WAR got, I'm talking of course about ANNIHILATION.
Also I'm behind on all my Batman titles and FF and I've just been stacking away the X-Men titles unread, funny cause I can remember when the X's were top of the stack stuff!
Nowadays, it's Superman, 52, JLA and JSA titles that get read first...everything else gets read whenever.

Annihilation was awesome! Far better than Civil War.

Annihilation looks awesome, I can't wait to get all the various issues together and read them in order. I wonder why all the emphasis was placed on CW and so little on Anni.?

On second thought, I have some issues of the event but not all the books together to read it. That will be one of my goals to get the series together before I read them.
Nova is coming out as an ongoing. I might want to start getting these as well.

I heard Annihilation was good until the last issue. I friend told me the last issue was so bad they may as well have not bothered with the series.

with life getting in the way, I'm a year behind on everything... I haven't read a comic book all year... saddly large portions on my comic book collection did not survive last year's events, though that was the least of our problems... happily though, my entire Scrooge collection remains intact, because those were stored in watertight boxes... a word of note to other collectors: don't just board and bag... watertight boxes are a must, you never know when a flood could be knocking on your front door
